UK P & I CLUB, ANNOUNCED THAT 20% OF THE COST OF INSURANCE LOSSES TO THE Container CAUSED BY PHYSICAL DAMAGE, 14% RELATED TO TEMPERATURE, 10% DUE TO FALLING Container AT SEA, 9% STOLEN AND 8% GOODS DEFICIT. THE MENTIONED CLUB BELIEVES THAT THE BIGGEST CAUSE OF THE DAMAGE TO THE Container IS THE IMPROPER STUFFING OF THE GOODS IN THE Container

Abstract: 

This experiment was designed in order to investigate the effects of Container type (pot vs. polyethylene bag), substrate volume per plant (5 L vs. 8 L) and method of canopy management (bending vs. pruning) on ‘Cherry Brandy’ rose cultivar. This experiment was conducted in a greenhouse located at north-east of Tehran and arranged in a factorial design based on a completely randomized design with three replications. Results indicated that positive and significant effects of pot on peduncle length, bud diameter, root fresh and dry weights and flowering stem leaf area. Means of bud diameter and flower fresh weight showed superiority in 8 L substrate volume per plant but only flowering stem length was more in 5 L substrate volume. Based on the results, effect of canopy management method was significant on all of the traits except for bud length. Bending method showed better results in comparison to pruning, in a way that only production increased in response to pruning. Canopy management method was found to be the most important factor on the production and quality of cut rose in this research.

WITH REGARD TO THE NEW EQUIPMENT AND INNOVATION CREATES NEW HAZARDS, SO, IT IS NECESSARY TO PAY SPECIFIC ATTENTION TO SAFETY MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS AND HEALTH WORK IN Container TERMINALS. DUE TO THE LACK OF FAMILIARITY OF WORKERS AND STAFFS WITH THE PRINCIPLES OF SAFETY, LACK OF USING THE PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT, NONCONFORMITY WITH THE PRINCIPLES OF THE GOODS ARRANGEMENTS, WORKING ON TOP OF THE Container, TREATMENT WITH DANGEROUS GOODS, AND MANY OTHER ISSUES MANY ACCIDENTS HAPPEN THAT IN ADDITION TO IRREPARABLE DAMAGE TO STRATEGIC EQUIPMENT OF Container TERMINALS WHICH IS IN THE BILLIONS OF DOLLARS PER YEAR THAT THERE ARE MANY CASUALTIES TOO, IN THIS REGARD, ONLY THROUGH TEACHING ABOVE MENTIONED PRINCIPLES CAN REDUCE AS MANY OF THESE ACCIDENTS. NOWADAYS, UNFORTUNATELY, A LARGE PART OF THE Container TERMINAL WORKERS ARE AS WAGE AND SELF-EMPLOYMENT AND ON THE OTHER HAND THE CONTRACTORS REFUSE THE TRAINING OF WORKERS BECAUSE OF THE FINANCIAL BURDEN IN THE MEANTIME IT IS THE TASK OF THE PORTS OBSERVERS THROUGH EXECUTIVE LEVERS, TO FORCE THE PRIVATE COMPANIES TO TRAIN THEIR WORKERS. HOWEVER, RECENTLY WE HAVE SEEN A GOOD EFFORT BY THE SHAHID RAJAEE PORT TRAINING CENTER AND IMAM KHOMEINI PORT FOR FREE TRAINING OF STEVEDORE WORKERS. IN THIS PAPER, THROUGH THE PROVISION OF SAFETY CONCEPTS, REQUIREMENTS, COORDINATION WITH OTHER SECTORS, SAFETY MANAGEMENT AND HEALTH AT WORK, EDUCATION, THE ROLE OF THE SAFETY ADVISORY COMMITTEE FOR SAFETY AND HEALTH AT WORK AND DANGEROUS GOODS, THE METHOD OF ROADS DESIGN IN Container TERMINAL, LIGHTING OF PORT YARDS, WORKING WITH SPECIAL EQUIPMENT OF ContainerS, Container HANDLING AND,… THROUGH EXISTING INTERNATIONAL RULES AND ALSO SAFETY BOOK AND HEALTH AT WORK IN Container OPERATION WHICH IS TRANSLATED BY ME, USEFUL ISSUES FOR REDUCTION OF INCIDENTS ARE PRESENTED.

Abstract: 

This research aims to evaluate quality services in the Rajaee Port Container terminal by using SERVQUAL model that is a tool for measuring quality services, identification and for analyzing available gaps between expectations and perceptions services. Container terminal customers at the port of Rajaee are community statistics in this Research. Judgmental sampling method use for selecting sample. The standard and localized questionnaires with Cronbach,s alpha coefficient in the perceptions section was 0.921 and in expectations section was 0.895 that was distributed among the 150 members of sample, which 102 (68%) questionnaires were available. First for analyze the data, the researcher used of LISREL software to check reliability SERVQUAL model (Size Making Model First and Second term) and then used SPSS software to do T Test pair sample for analyzing significant gap between expectations and perceptions respondents. Results obtained in this study indicated that there is a gap between customer,s expectation services and perceptions services in Container terminal of Rajaee Port in all five dimension of quality services and from weight point of view. the physical dimension is the most important dimension between all dimensions and after that, reliability, assurance, responsiveness and empathy are also important. In addition, physical dimension have maximum gap and empathy dimension have minimum gap between customers, expectations and perceptions.

Abstract: 

Many improvement approaches with different effectiveness have been introduced to the industry by researchers and university professors. Six Sigma Methodology is one of this approaches which formed within the industry and has attracted the attention of scientific societies and academies all over the world due to its outstanding effectiveness. By having high analysis capability, this methodology which first set up in the production units found its way rapidly through service sectors which have great improvement opportunities. In this article, the experience and learning obtained from implementation of this methodology in Shahid Rajaee Port are given.

Abstract: 

In this paper, an efficient genetic algorithm (GA) is presented to solve an extended storage space allocation problem (SSAP) in a Container terminal. The SSAP is defined as the temporary allocation of the inbound/outbound Containers to the storage blocks at each time period with aim of balancing the workload between blocks in order to minimize the storage/retrieval times of Containers. An extended version of a SSAP proposed in the literature is considered in this paper in which the type of Container affects on Decision making on the allocation of Containers to the blocks. In real world cases, there are different types (as well as different sizes) of Containers consisting of several different goods such as regular, empty and refrigerated Containers. The extended SSAP is solved by an efficient GA for real-sized instances. Because of existing the several equality constraints in the extended model, the implementation of the GA in order to quick and facilitate achieve to the feasible solutions is one of the outstanding advantages of this paper. The performance of the extended model and proposed GA is verified by a number of numerical examples.

THIS STUDY IDENTIFIES PRODUCTIVE MOVEMENTS OF ContainerS AND EXAMINES THE PRODUCTIVITY OF Container STACKING AND RETRIEVAL OPERATIONS IN Container TERMINALS USING AUTOMATED YARD GANTRY CRANES. IT USES THE INDICES OF ACCESSIBILITY AND INTRODUCES A COMPREHENSIVE DEFINITION FOR THE PRODUCTIVITY OF Container TERMINAL OPERATION. THIS STUDY SETS UP A BASIS FOR THE ENHANCEMENT OF PRODUCTIVITY AND UTILISATION OF TIME AND SPACES IN THE MODERN Container TERMINALS. IT IS ARGUED THAT A CONSIDERABLE SAVING IN THE CYCLE TIME AND RE-HANDLINGS OF ContainerS CAN BE ACHIEVED BY THE ENHANCEMENT OF THE STACKING BLOCKS. Abstract: 

Container terminals are places where freights are moved by special equipment. One of the most important issues in seaside operation scheduling in Container ports is berth scheduling so that the berth plan has a great influence on the quay crane schedule, the yard storage plan and even the truck routing. In this paper, a mix integer linear programming model is proposed for dynamic and hybrid berth scheduling problem to schedule multiple vessels at multiple terminals at the Shahid-Rajaei Container port. To evaluate the proposed model, the results of the present port operation in Shahid Rajaei port are compared with the results of the proposed model. The results reveal that the proposed model has decreased the vessels departure delay up to 50 percent in Container port. The proposed model is evaluated by comparing the results with discrete berth scheduling model in literature. Numerical examples show that applying the proposed berth scheduling model can improve operations and significantly decrease vessel delayed departures compared with discrete berth scheduling model. So, in competition with other nearby ports, the Container port can be more successful in satisfying the shipping companies and have higher productivity and profitability.
